Where prices come from

Every product on HomeSimTracker links to a specific retailer page. Each day we recheck the price on that page (or the retailer's public product feed) and update the site. If a check fails, we keep the last price we saw rather than guess, and the date shown tells you when it was last confirmed.

About "was" prices

When a product shows a crossed-out "was" price, that number comes from the retailer's own listing. We don't make it up or calculate it ourselves.

We hide "was" prices that look off

Some listings show an original price that seems too high to be a real recent price. If a "was" price would mean more than 60% off, we hide it and the savings badge, show only the current price, and leave that product out of the "Biggest savings" sort. This check runs automatically every day.
